I practiced running for years. Running is a sport that brings people together, helps you overcome limits and makes you improve more every day.
The most incredible race I’ve ever done was the Nike 600k Challenge in 2011. In this race, the 13 team members took turns between to run and go by Van to complete a 600 kilometer route from São Paulo city to Rio de Janeiro. It was amazing, but at that time Plogging did not exist yet.
Running unites people and common objectives. I recently heard about Plogging while I was researching about sustainability.
Plogging is a combination of the words “jogging” and “picking up litter.” It is a form of exercise that involves picking up litter while jogging or walking. Plogging can provide a number of benefits, both for the individual participating in the activity and for the community as a whole.
Some of the benefits of plogging include:
Plogging is believed to have originated in Sweden in 2016 as a way to combine physical activity with efforts to clean up the environment. The trend quickly gained popularity and has spread to other countries around the world. Plogging has become particularly popular in urban areas, where there is often a high concentration of litter.
The video below explains this modality in detail.
